Overeating problem part 2

By HappySkinnyGirl

I thought pomegranates might work for me since it has the same taste as multivitamins do, but it didn’t help. Clearly, it doesn’t contain as much vitamins as the multivitamins do, duh! And I’m so tired of drinking those multivitamins! Luckily, I just got my audio book The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person in the mail the other day. It’s totally awesome! Love it! It made me realize I’ve never really dealt with my cravings issue before. Every time I crave something, I’ve been trying to ignore the feelings, which led me being even more obsessed with food. Finally, I would give in and overeat. I already lost my battle against food when I started negotiating with my thoughts. Here are some of my sabotaging thoughts associated with food:

  • It won’t matter if I eat this food just this one time
  • I know I shouldn’t eat this but I can’t resist it
  • I’ve had such a hard day, I deserve to eat this
  • If I don’t eat now, I won’t be able to go to sleep

With the beck diet solution I’m learning how to counteract my sabotaging thoughts with helpful responses. It’s helping me to overcome other weight loss obstacles as well by changing the way I think.

Another good book that might be a good read is cravings secret which deal directly with the cravings issue such as pizza, pasta, carbs, salty, fried foods, fast food, sugar, chocolate and more.

I’m moving my weekly update to today instead of tomorrow.

  • 18 881 walking steps
  • This week weight loss: 2.2 lbs (1kg)
  • Total weight lost: 2.2 lbs (1kg)

Awesome week! I solved my cravings problem and I lost 2.2 lbs! Normally I would have gained more weight. After several years of struggle with overeating, I can’t believe I find the way to curb my cravings! I didn’t do exercises as much as last week because I felt my body needed to rest for a couple of days. I didn’t keep my food journal either, but changing habits will take time.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Overeating problem

I have a problem with overeating. It’s hard to let go of old patterns of behavior. I used to work in shifts, and every time I got home I used to gorge myself no matter what time I came home. I don’t work at that place anymore, but I still carry on the same eating behavior. I’ve such a craving I can’t even stop myself. I eat even though I’m stuffed.

Sometime I think I’m after the rush the food can give me, the feeling of relief and satisfying. Have you seen lemurs biting on millipedes video clip? The millipede release substances that are drug-like and those Lemurs get all high and gooey! I’m feeling like that sometimes.

In the past couple of days I’ve tried to pinpoint the overeating problem, when do I usually overeat. It usually happens after 8 pm. I just don’t eat a little but a lot! According to many experts, taking supplements is a good idea because our bodies may be in need of vitamins, we don’t get much food as we use to and besides we do exercise more. I did try it once but it didn’t help me much.

This week I’m experimenting drinking a glass of soluble multivitamins for women at 7 pm, 1 1/2 hour after dinner and before my cravings start to kick in, and so far it works wonder! My craving scale went down to like zero! I hope it’ll work throughout the week, that would be so great! I’m not planning to take those vitamins more than a week though, I think that eating a pomegranate will work out just fine too.

What have you tried in the past to curb your craving? Do you have any suggestions? Part 2: train your brain to think like a thin person.

  • 30 291 steps
  • 2 x yoga (25 min. session)
  • Gain: 0.9lbs (0.4kg) :((

My hunger scale is up high this week because I’ve been exercising more but not intense enough to burn all those calories, so the result is the weight gain. Late night eatings is evil too. The good news is that the walking has become much easier. For the upcoming week, I’m ready to add more intense exercises and also I need to turn my focus on food addiction. It’s time for me to start keep food journaling, something that I’ve never done before.

  • 27 277 steps
  • 1 x pump it up dance workout
  • Gain: 1.3lbs (0.6kg)

I went to a coffeehouse on Friday and it was nice, usually I want to hide myself at home. I didn’t expect any weight loss this week but didn’t expect weight gain either. I guess fluctuation happens but I’m happy anyway because I move a whole lot more now. That’s the first habit I want to change. At the beginning of the week I thought I had to take a break from the walking, because I felt tired and needed a rest. I guess that’s the reason why I ate a lot this week. I feel stronger now for upcoming week thanks to Sara for this great tips!

I find that many times we spend too much effort looking for motivation. Take a moment to stretch, walk, do a dance or two and the motivation will follow. It doesn’t have to be overly strenuous…you just want to start moving. Stretching and bending works wonders and after a few weeks of doing just that you’ll feel soooo limber you’ll want to try something more energetic!

Looking for motivation is like looking for the holy grail of weight loss! It doesn’t exist. I’ll add some easy morning yoga routine for next week to prevent energy slumber.
