Clearly I’ve become unfocused and forgot about the basics. Right now I’m working on my eating behavior, to eat only when I’m truly hungry that’s when the stomach feels empty. I got inspired by Japanese eating style; bite size and smaller bowl. I even wanted a low Japanese dining table where I have to sit down on the floor, so I would be too lazy to get up for a second round.

But for now I switched my 8 inch plates to a 3.3 inch bowl which is about ½ cup. It works wonder because I’m able to control food intake better. It’s a little bit easier to recognize when my stomach is truly hungry too because I’m not being overfed. It’s a lot of food when it’s being served on a smaller plate. I can feel how I become less obsess about food, because often times I don’t want to drop what I’m doing so I’ll wait a little longer before deciding to eat. I don’t have hunger pangs that I’ve to eat something immediately.

It was difficult at Christmas dinner but I drank green tea instead of water during the meal. It’s like eating warm soup; it does fill up the stomach. I was able to drop a pound last week.

One Response to Eating Less – Inspired By Japanese Eating Style

I totally agree with you about the green tea! I find it helps me when I want to eat just because I am cold. The tea warms me up but doesn’t add the calories.
