This video is about health benefits of drinking green teas, rooibos teas, and yerba matte. After finished watching it I was craving for tea!

Wii Fit mini review

Posted on April 26, 2008 Comments here (4) ♥

wii-fit.jpgI bought Wii Fit for the Nintendo yesterday and I love it! I did Wii Fit age test, which is based on results of a variety of balance tests and my first result was 65 yrs old! :-O The funny thing is that’s how I’m feeling, older than I actually am. The result of the balance test also tells you how good your posture is. Having bad posture means that you may develop spinal, pelvic or other problems. My result indicates that I have bad posture and tend to lean slightly to the left. I now understand why. I often sit with my legs crossed or stand with my weight shifted on my left leg only.

Wii Fit is the perfect fitness toy when you don’t feel like doing the regular exercises but need all the activities you can get. There are more than 40 activities which are divided into four main categories: strength training, yoga, aerobics, and balance games. One of my favorite is running. It feels like I’m out jogging at the park with other “Mii’s” (characters) running around. You get to follow an instructor and if you run too fast you may be led by a dog instead, or you may trip and fall. As you do more exercises, you’ll unlock more activities, either a new one or more advanced.

The neat thing is that it keeps track of my BMI, weight, and fitness age with graphs, and time spent on each of the main categories of exercises on a bar chart. I can preview it by weekly, monthly, or yearly. As you lose weight and getting slimmer, your “Mii” will also getting slimmer. Wii Fit will definately keep you fit while having fun. Things You Don’t Know About Me

Posted on April 22, 2008 Comments here (7) ♥

It’s a rest week, I’m posting 9 random things about me, so you’ll get to know me a little better.

  1. I can stay away from eating rice for a day, but the second day I’ve to have it.
  2. I redecorate my home every now and then.
  3. I love pink, but I don’t have the confidence to wear it just yet.
  4. I’m 3/4 vegetarian.
  5. When I was a kid I was bit by my neighbor’s dog.
  6. I’m Thai, but have only been there 2 times…shame on me.
  7. I love watching 3d animated movies, because I love cute and funny stuff.
  8. I donate money to the charities sometimes.
  9. I’ve a good sense of smell….almost like a dog.

It’s late so some of the things above may not make any sense, but I hope you had fun reading it. Feel free to share things about yourself. :)

Progress or No Progress?

Posted on April 19, 2008 Comments here (4) ♥

My old scale was a little off and I had to step on it 3 times to get accurate readings so I bought a new one, a tanita scale. Thanks Cynthia! No more stepping like crazy :) I didn’t get my exercise today, but I did some cleaning instead. My home is now free from clutter, yay! I love minimalist style, but it’s hard to put away stuff when I’ve so many hobbies.

My eating habit was poor this week because my “monthly friend” is coming to a visit. Plus, I went to a birthday’s party and I ended up eating too much. I was hungry and sort of forgot that I shouldn’t eat that much! The following days were not better either. I overate because it made me feel normal. Anyway, because of that my scale is up and erasing all the work I’ve done in the past. Actually, I’m not feeling down because I’m feeling more fit and flexible now than I ever was in the past. Plus, I don’t eat as much as I used to. I’ve trouble with food and I realize it’s going to take some times to fix it, even though I’ve a lot of strategies written down.

While I’m on this journey I’ve learned that this is not about rigid schedule/lifestyle, being on or off the wagon, but being flexible enought to stay on course and continue the journey.

Do You Re-evaluate Your Plan?

Posted on April 15, 2008 Comments here (8) ♥

In the beginning of you weight loss journey did you create your own plan or took a “pre-packaged” plan? In the past I often chose a “pre-packaged” plan because I believed it was the fastest way to achieve results, because that was what they told me. However, I could never follow through because it wasn’t designed to fit me. By the time I went through 2-3 weeks I was exhausted, and just gave up. This is when you should start re-evaluating your plan and customize it, even if you have your own plan. Don’t blame outside circumstances or yourself for not having willpower!

I’ve been stressed and exhausted lately because I was trying too hard. My goal was to exercise daily 5-6 times/week and I wanted the scale to move down to a new low. I was doing things the wrong way. It’s not natural to exercise everyday, 5-6 times/week for longer periods. A normal thin person wouldn’t do it, so why would we expect ourself to have the motivations and strength to do it all the time? Well, I’ve to do it smarter!

My new workout plan is to exercise 2 days and then rest 1 day. Plus 1 week of rest for every 3-4 weeks. Rest is important for long term success so you’ll have energy to follow through. Don’t rest too much ’cause you’ll be lazy :) Also, I’m going to start writing a food journal so I can avoid any energy drain in the future. Do you re-evaluate your plan?

Bean quesadillas

Posted on April 13, 2008 Comments here (9) ♥

bean-quesadillas.jpgI made vegetarian bean quesadillas for my Saturday’s lunch. Recipe can be found here. I love this because it reminds me of California’s burritos I used to buy at the weekend street fair. It’s not quite the same but it’s still tasty and easy to do.

Energy Drain

Posted on April 12, 2008 Comments here (4) ♥

Another week is gone. My week had been so-so, some good days and some bad days. I kind of end up eating dinner very late this week. Also, I feel energy drain! From being too high last week and below zero this week, it makes me…..cranky! :) Reading this article 20 Time & Energy Drains You Can Eliminate over at the freelance switch, confim my belief what might be the contributing facts to the energy drain. I’ve cluttered surroundings, unclean house, and eat unhealthy food. It’s a mess! I’m not perfectionistic, but I can’t stand cluttered surroundings.

Here’s how the week has been:

Sunday - Vicky Weight Off workout (1h)
Monday - Jillians Cardio X workout (30min)
Tuesday - Jillians Cardio X workout (30min)
Wednesday - Rest
Thursday - Rest
Friday - Natalies Then and Now workout (1h)
Saturday - Jillians Cardio X workout (30min)

Midweek Is Approaching

Posted on April 8, 2008 Comments here (9) ♥

allabouthabits00.jpgYes, I’m hiding all of my 46lbs(21kg) fat very well in this picture. It’s almost midweek, have you started your week yet? If not, stay away from the computer and start exercising. Like Stan said to Cartman in South Park, get your fat ass up! lol. I was tired today but I did Jillians Michaels Cardio Kickbox, 30 minutes of awesome workout! Yay! Wohooo, more good news, I could now do squats, lunges, especially jumping jacks. Wow! :) Jillians Michaels was motivating and her video was not too difficult. Surprising facts, I’m in the same age as her and same height too. I wonder, how much does she weight?

Do you remember your first fitness dvd you bought? I remember I bought Billy Blanks Taebo which was way too advance for me. All I was thinking was I wanted to lose weight. So, if you’re new and looking to buy a fitness dvd make sure it matches your fitness level.

I can’t wait until my Omron fat loss monitor arrives! It’s a hand held body fat analyzer. I decided to purchase one after reading Cynthia’s recommendation and other reviews. When you’re doing body fat measurement you might get different results depending on what method you use. The number is not really important but the progress is. I’ll make a review later on.

Weekly Progress 04/05/2008

Posted on April 5, 2008 Comments here (4) ♥

I had an amazing week! If I could be this upbeat everyweek I would accomplish amazing results! Take a peek on my weight loss graph here. I did some re-planning, I’ll take one week at a time and give it 100%. Also, I’ve included one week of rest every third week or so to recharge my body.

The other day I found my old weight loss file from when I did the body for life challenge. Oh my gosh, I didn’t remember I weighted that much, 170lbs (77kg)! I remember now how I felt, I was panicking back then because I was getting closer to 176lbs (80kg). That’s a lot for a small frame girl like me. I’m currently 158.5lbs (71.9kg).

Today is my rest day, yay! I can eat whatever I want, but take-out food doesn’t taste that good anymore. Though, I’m going to have some tasty snacks for the movie tonight. I won’t mention what they are, so you don’t have to drool ;;) It’s a nice feeling, to be able to enjoy snacks without the feeling of gorging.

My success:

Wake Up Feeling Awesome Everyday

Posted on April 1, 2008 Comments here (13) ♥

Do the exercise, go to bed and wake up feeling fitter and gorgeous everyday! That was the epiphany I got this morning after having done exercise yesterday. If you’re not feeling on the top today, just know that you’re awesome! You’ve qualities that other people need. Play on your strength and bring it out. It could be anything from being fun, caring, social, party girl/guy, detail oriented, determined, or serious. Honoring the differences in people will help you become more happy with who you are as a person. Because you know they need you and you need them.

Are you a judgmental person? You may say “No”, but watch your own reaction when you read news. How do you respond to it? How do you know what true or not true in the news? Take celebrities for example, do you hate Paris? Or hate Trump? If you don’t like somebody, you should learn the positive qualites from them and apply it to your life. Being judgmental is preventing you from feeling gorgeous and be the awesome person you should be.

A big shout-out to everyone who is reading my blog YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! Oh, and a big thank you to Cynthia, Lady G, MizFit, and Desi for leaving comments and showing support last week. It means so much and was a big help, I’m getting up on my feet faster now.
